Jesus Loves the Little Children

15 And they brought unto him also infants, that he would touch them: but when his disciples saw it, they rebuked them. 16 But Jesus called them unto him, and said, Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God . 17 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall in no wise enter therein. Luke 18:15-17

Jesus loves the little children,

All the children of the world,

Red and yellow, black and white,

They are precious in his sight.

I. Everyone loves children.

  • A. Unpredictable. You never know what they will say.
  • B. They have a wide-eyed curiosity about life.
  • C. But some people love children for the wrong reason.
    • 1. Possessions.
    • 2. Control of children make them feel important.
    • 3. Some worship their children.
  • D. But Jesus loved the children because he saw the purity of their faith.

II. Can little children be saved?

  • A. Jesus included little children in his ministry.
  • B. The Bible says much about the responsibility of parenthood.
    • (Parenting wouldn’t be important if children weren’t important.)
  • C. I was baptized as a child, received the Holy Ghost at eleven.)
  • D. The Holy Ghost has fallen on many children in our Sunday School.

III. Are children important to the church?

  • A. Much of our ministry centers around children.
  • B. One reason for the strength of the church is people saved when they were children.

IV. Four keys to preserving the faith your children were born with.

  • A. Pray with them and for them.
  • B. Bring them to Sunday School and church.
  • C. Make the Bible important in their lives.
  • D. Give them the right example to follow.

V. You are the most important key!

  • A. Have you repented of your sins?
  • B. Have you been baptized in Jesus’ name?
  • C. Have you received the gift of the Holy Ghost?
  • D. Are you faithfully serving Jesus?
